How does it work?
- Upload your insurance information when you fill out your clinic profile. You will be prompted to upload an image of your insurance card or a screenshot of your e-card. Depending on the insurance company, some may ask for the policy holders information as well. Once this has been completed, we should be able to direct bill for you.
- Co-pay: Some insurance plans require the client to pay an amount of the massage treatment. This amount is called a co-pay and is specific to your plan. You can find out this detail by either logging into your insurance companies app or contacting them directly. Each plan will state a "eligible amount" and then as well a "percentage of payment" and those two details together determine how much of the treatment will be covered. Example: eligible amount ($115) + percentage of payment (80%) = $92 covered & $23 co-pay to be paid by client.
- Doctors Notes: A few plans still require a doctors note to bill massage treatments. To know if your plan requires a note you need to contact your insurance company and ask.
- Apps: Most insurance companies have apps that you can use to check your plans details, access you e-card, track your claims, and submit a treatment when direct billing is unavailable.
- Tax Write Off: There are several instances where people can write off treatments like massage during their tax filing. You can ask a financial advisor for more specific details.
